National Maritime Museum Research Fellowships
(Greenwich, London)


'The National Maritime Museum holds the largest and finest collections of maritime-related objects in the world. These include:
[ ] ...charts, maps and atlases dating from the 15th century'. The Museum offers the following fellowships for research on the collections:-

  • Senior Caird Fellowship - one-year, postdoctoral award

  • Caird Doctoral Fellowship - three-year studentship for full-time research leading to a PhD

  • Short-term Caird Fellowship - up to three months

  • Sackler Research Fellowship - two-year, postdoctoral award for advanced research into the history of Astronomy and Navigational Sciences at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich

  • Fellowships are advertised each September, with interviews in December/January and sucessful applicants taking up their award in October of the following academic year. For application forms, email the Research Administrator or search the NMM site.
